The Conference
Two Days of Powerful Talks
12-13 May 2023
Edmonton
Our 1st Annual LOdown LIVE Conference is created by our school’s Student Solidarity Committee, a student committee that works towards social action awareness and education, inclusion and anti-racism and equity at Lillian Osborne High School. These students came together with a proposal to staff and the Lillian Osborne Parent Council wanting to create a speaker type conference to inspire our greater community to engage in conversation around ideas that challenge us and make us think differently about our world. Our goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.

About SSC
What is SSC?
The Student Solidarity Committee (SSC) acknowledges the identities/struggles of the students/staff in our school, so our mission is to harness the social justice passion in our students and turn it into concrete actions/movements to help individuals/groups, especially those who belong to minorities, in our local community.
